Preferred drink’s in our Math’s Group.

Today in maths we gathered data and used Google spreadsheets to make a column graph, Our topic was preferred drink’s and our variables and was genders. I noticed that girls preferred Water and Juice equally and boy’s preferred Juice the most. Fizzy drinks were the least popular with only two boys. I chose to do a bar graph because it was easier to show the data we collected.

Week 6 Reflection

This week has been very fun! This week on Friday I went surfing!! but we had to go in early because the waves were to big and dangerous for us learners. On Thursday we went to tech! I got food with my friend Josh, we made French Toast

It was very yummy! I shared with my family and friends! they though it tasted very good!

Those have been my highlights of this week.

Thank you for reading 🙂

For the past weeks we have been working on Safety in the water. this is what I made. It’s a safe river scene.

Things that could be unsafe here are if you are doing a manu you have to be safe.

Thank you for reading!!

Fitness Goal

This week I have two fitness goals, my goals are running and swimming related, my swimming goal is to swim backtroke 2 full lengths. and my running one is to run 3 laps, this is because I know I can run 2 laps.

Tangaroa – Week 2 – Term 1 Reflection

This week has been very fun, I have had a great time this week at tech, we had food. I made a fruit salad with yogurt.

In my last report I said that I am going to try sign-up for everything, I signed up for Adrenaline Forest, Surfing and a few more things! I am very excited for camp next week! it’s gonna be SOOOOO much fun! In my tent I have got Tyler and Bentley, for dinner we are having Pancakes and Bacon!

Yesterday the CRT team came, I was with Matt, first we did a few mini-games then we headed of to tech, once we got back we had a quick little run around then we had a game of manhunt just before the next break started.

That was pretty fun. Then after Last-Break we went back to the court and played a game called Cat’s VS Mice.

I was pretty bad and clueless at the start but then I started to get the hang of it. I was on the Cat’s team first. what we have to do is try to tag the Mice. the Mice can go through the gaps between the other Cat’s. and the leader cat tried to tag the mice by tagging other teammates to go and tag them if they have the closer advantage.

This week has been great!!

Hope to have an even better one next week 🙂

Tangaroa Week 1 Reflection

This year I have moved into a new classroom, which as had both, ups and downs. I have tried my hardest to sign-up for activities and different challenges, one being Adrenaline Forest which I signed up for straight as I heard about it.

Positives:

In 2 weeks time we go to Spencer Park for a year 7-8 camp, I’m very excited for have Tyler and Bentley as my tent buddies, I am also very excited for Adrenaline Forest which is included extra in the camp that you can sign-up for!          I love Tangaroa so much! It has been so good that every morning I’m actually really excited for school, Unbelievable ay?

Challenges:

I have faced only a few challenges in my first 3 days of  Tangaroa, one being signing up for things in time before the opportunity is gone. I have also struggled leaving a few of my close friends behind back in Tane Mahuta.. I still see them daily but its gonna be weird not working and being in the same working space as them, but luckily I’ll be able to have them back next year!! I really hope that this is gonna be a year with few problems and drama.

I have so far enjoyed working in the big senior class and hope more good outcomes to come flowing in! I have a great friend group and some very nice, and kind teachers helping me through my journey in Tangaroa! I’m in Nicole’s group and she is so nice, kind and helpful to me! I’m hoping to try learn and take all the opportunity’s that this class gets!

I’m looking forward to see what next week brings!!

Minecraft CRT – 2024 Maze

With Jaxon & Ben, during our CRT sessions with Elizabeth.  Our maze has a perimeter of 196. We used a palette of Mangrove wood and nether brick and copper for the walls.  We dug out the grass and replaced this with mossy brick and wood and a bit of honey to slow the player down.

We went with a dungeon theme for our Hohenga, Action Maze.  Our entrance looks like a wood forest with obsidian taking over.

We have a redstone trap area that is to make the maze more difficult to solve and get the player confused.  One section of our maze goes underground, but be careful some parts are dark!  If you get through the underground maze it will lead you back up to the top and then you’re not far from the exit.

My Statistical Investigation!

This is my blog post about the data Me, Nate & Luca found out, we created a pie char and a bar graph, to show you the amount of minutes people can run before getting puffed/tired, it took us a whole week! It was really fun to make!!

How long can you run before getting puffed/tired??

Our Three Statments:

  1. The most common time ran was 4-6 with 7 people combined with both genders.
  2. The hardest part of the task was to get the girls to try our project.
  3. Boy’s combined got a better time than the girls which makes the Boy’s the winners!!
